40th annual
WORLD OPEN

July 4-8, 5-8, 6-8, 2-8, 1-3 or 4-5, 2012
Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel

HOTEL ROOMS UPDATE:

1) Someone in reservations for the Sheraton City Center Hotel keeps telling players that rooms at the chess rate are not available on one or more nights. THIS HAS BEEN FALSE and is probably still false. Call 215-448-2000 to make reservations, and if you are told the chess rate is not available, send an email to Tonya.Nowlin@ interstatehotels.com, with a copy to Director@Chess.US.

2) If Tonya confirms that the chess rate is finally really sold out, our backup hotel is the Sonesta, formerly Crowne Plaza, at 1800 Market St. Call 617-806-4653 and ask for the chess rate of $99 single or twin. If you stay at the Sonesta, special parking rates are available of $18 Friday & Saturday, $31.50 other days. (Note that one block from the Sheraton at 1540 Vine is Gateway Parking, which we believe is $5/day Saturday and Sunday and $18/day other days.)
