CHICAGO OPEN HOTEL ROOMS

Chicago Open rooms at the $99 chess rate are believed to be still available. However, our room block is for May 25-30, and some players have asked for extra nights, such as May 24 or May 31. Believe it or not, asking for a room night not in our block may result in the hotel saying that no rooms are available at the chess rate for ANY nights, or even that there is no chess tournament! I don't know why hotels use these foolish methods, but the Westin is far from the only hotel that does.

We believe that May 24 and May 31 are also available at the chess rate, but if you ask for one of these dates and are told the above nonsense, ask again and restate your dates to fall entirely within the May 25-30 period. Then once the reservations agent admits that the chess tournament and the chess rate exist, ask for your additional date. If they say no, ask for the Sales Office Mon-Fri 9-5, or email Continental Chess at director@chess.us.

The hotel has the right to raise the rate after Friday, May 13, so reserve your room no later than 5 pm on that day. Note that the chess rooms may sell out before then, so to be assured of a room, reserve now! Call 800-937-8461 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            800-937-8461      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or 847-777-6500 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            847-777-6500      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.
